How many computers can the network version support?

    - Up to 10 computers. Licenses available in 5-seat increments.

Is the licensing a "one-time deal" or is it renewed yearly?

    - The licensing is a ''one-time'' payment.  No yearly renewals required.

Can other data be added to the software?

    - The HQ portal of the software allows the end-user to tailor the database to his/her specific needs.

Can you track other data added to the software?

    - Sure, the HQ portal allows the end-user to custom-tailor the pull down fields throughout the database to track

     for statistical analysis.

Can it be upgraded?

    - Yes.  Like the majority of software, major upgrades over the life of the product will be made available to the

end-user at a fraction of the original purchase price.  Minor Upgrades are FREE to the end-user and will be made

available via the 'Updates' portion of this website.

How much are upgrades?

    - Minor Updates are FREE.  Major software revisions will be offered a fraction of the original purchase price;

contingent on verification of proper licensing.

How can I purchase it?

    - We accept Purchase Orders, Checks, or payment via Credit Card from our Online Shopping Cart.  The software

will be immediately available for download upon receipt of Purchase Order or Payment.

Do I downloaded it or do I receive a CD in the mail?

    - Download is the preferred means; however some corporate firewalls will prevent downloading from our servers.

In that instance, a CD can be mailed to you upon request, for just the cost of shipping.

What are the requirements for the network version?

    - The Network Version requires a mapped drive letter from each client computer to a centrally located server or

workstation.  This drive letter is 'K' by default.  Your I.T. Department will be able to assist you in mapping a drive

letter to a shared network drive; either on a server or another workstation.  Should your I.T. department

require a different mapped drive letter (other than 'K'), contact us and we can tailor the software for a small

     additional fee.

I've installed the network version, but when trying to open the database, it says can't find specified

  file "k:\VADatabaseNET_be.mdb"

    - Your I.T. Department MUST map a centrally located server share to the drive map 'K:' prior to installing the

software.  Go to ''My Computer'' and look for a K: drive.  If it doesn't exist, please contact your I.T.

Department for further assistance in mapping the K drive to a server share.

Why is the age calculation not correct?

    - It doesn't re-calculate the date as the record ages but it shows the age of the individual at the time

the crime occurred (i.e. FIRST CONTACT DATE - BIRTHDAY = AGE)

How can I export the data?

    - The ''Master Report'' button (in the Reporting Module) will export ALL statistics to a tabbed excel spreadsheet

for further data manipulation.  (Must have a spreadsheet program installed, such as Open Office or MS Office

      capable of reading .xls spreadsheets).

I am wondering if there is any way to change some of the headings on the client tab to work better

   with my data?

    - The various headings on the client tab CANNOT be changed by the USER.  However, it is considered a

minor upgrade to the program and will be done at NO COST to the user upon request.  Please notify

us of your desired 'heading names' following purchase of the FULL version and PRIOR to downloading

and installing the FULL version.  We will custom-tailor the heading names prior to installation.

Within each of the statistical categories I need to record whether it was a primary or secondary

   victim, can I do that?

    - Yes! The newest version now has this capability.

Does the database provide statistical analysis on the ''relationship between victim and perpetrator?''

    - Yes!  The new version provides statistical analysis between victim and perpetrator relationships via

      Defendant Screen in the Database.

Currently we have a database in Access, would it be possible to convert the data from a spreadsheet

of our current information into this software without typing in all the data again?

    - Yes, we offer data migration as an extra service. If your current database is already in access, we would prefer

that as opposed to a spreadsheet as it makes the migration easier. It is important to consider, however, that

data migration is not always 100%. While we will do our best to ensure a successful migration, some data fields

just may not migrate successfully (statistically, data migration has a 92-96% success rate). As each migration is

inherently different, we will be able to provide an accurate quote for migration once we see your data; and

once the decision is made to purchase our product - we will migrate that data and make a custom download

available to you. Additionally data migration can take up to a week to complete - prior to providing you with the

'final' product, we will ask for any additional data that you have entered into your software since we were in

possession of the original data file (that way, when you download it - all your information will be current).
